Steve Covell graduated from the LSU Paul Hebert School of Law in 1975 and Lauren graduated a year later. As a matter of fact, Steve and Lauren met in law school and married before either graduated.
After graduation, Steve worked for a Baton Rouge law firm and Lauren worked for the state as an attorney of the Department of Health and Human Services, as it was known at the time.
